Get hopping this Easter to help people experiencing homelessness. Our fundraiser, Hop for the Homeless, is open to all ages and is a fun way to raise vital funds to support our extended services during the Coronavirus pandemic.

You can get involved as a team or solo or why not link up with friends and family on a video call and take part together? Simply set yourself your target non-stop hopping time, choose a date and time for your challenge, collect sponsorship and then get hopping!

Michèle Price, Chief Executive of the Nightshelter commented: “We launched Hop for the Homeless last Easter at the start of the pandemic. We were so grateful for the positive response, everyone’s hopping helped the Nightshelter remain open 24 hours a day to keep our residents safe. We are still operating 24 hours a day and want to ask people to get hopping again to help support our vital work.”

How to get involved in Hop for the Homeless

Hop for the Homeless is open to hoppers of all ages and participants can take part on their own or as part of a team with family or housemates. Or you could even opt to do it as a team with a friend or family member not in your household and stay in touch via video call.

Set yourself a target hopping time. You can choose an individual time or opt for a longer time and share it like a relay if you are taking part as a team. An hour was a popular target time last year, but it is really up to you and what will be a challenge.

Sponsorship

You can download a sponsorship form or set up an online fundraising page on JustGiving or similar and get in training! We have set up an campaign page on JustGiving which you can link your online JustGiving page to or if it is easier your sponsors can just donate via our campaign page. View campaign page here.

Alternatively, you might choose to make a donation yourself for taking part rather than collecting sponsorship. You can donate via the campaign page.

Choose your hopping style

All hopping styles are welcome! You can choose to hop on one leg or bunny hop on two legs or maybe you want to bounce on your trampoline, just keep on moving!

When is Hop for the Homeless?

You choose a date and time that works for you over the Easter Weekend or Easter holidays. Easter themed fancy dress is encouraged but not essential!
