Light of Bengal donates meals to mark Ramadan

A leading Bangladeshi restaurant based in Winchester is donating a meal every week for four weeks to mark Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar.

The Light of Bengal on Romsey Road in Winchester has been serving up authentic Bangladeshi curry complete with naan bread, bhajis and poppadoms to Nightshelter residents on Tuesday nights.

Michele Price, Nightshelter Manager, said: "Huge thanks to Ranu Miah and Sayem Kabir of the Light of Bengal for donating such delicious food to the Nightshelter. Our residents have enjoyed tucking into such beautifully fresh and authentic food and really look forward to Tuesday's meal. We're very grateful to the Light of Bengal for their generosity."
